 Sarah Lavin, BSc MISCP

 

Sarah Lavin is a graduate of UCD where She achieved a first-class honors Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. She was admitted into Princeton University with the Class of 2016, and attended 2012/2013. On return, she was a member of the Ad Astra Academy in UCD for 5 years


Sarah comes from a sporting background. Her main achievements include:

  • World University Games 100mH 4th
  • European Junior 100mH Silver
  • European Youth Olympic 100mH Bronze.
  • Princeton University 60mH record. (since broken!)
  • National Junior 60mH and 100mH Record.
  • 27 National Juvenile Titles. 5 National Senior 100mH Titles.
  • Sole female nominee for the Irish Independent Young Sportsperson of the Year 2013.

Sarah additional professional training includes: Myofascial Trigger Point Release Course, Dry Needling David Simmonds Academy, First Aid and CPR Training, Sports First Aid Certificate, STARS Core Competencies: Stroke Rehabilitation Online Course, FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine Certificate.

Sarah worked in St. John’s Hospital, Limerick upon graduating. She has worked with teams such as St. Jude’s GAA Club as a match day physiotherapist and Miltown Hockey Club under S&C Collective Dundrum with pilates based exercise prescription. She has volunteered for the Dublin Marathon and Milford Care Centre in the past and held ambassador roles for Aviva School Fitness Challenge and Adidas Stellasport campaign.

Sarah operates a home-visit physiotherapy service for those in the immediate surrounding area who would rather service provision within the comforts of their own home. Her main interest is in foot & ankle rehabilitation and transfer of speed to sport.

A network of highly skilled professionals such as, a biomechanics specialist, dietician, sport scientists, specific speed coach, psychologist and S&C coaches are integral to a successful team set up. Happy to recommend to those who are best and experts in each domain.
